Our Wild Tale

In 2019, a group of wildlife enthusiasts and luxury experience connoisseurs set out on a quest to bring the wilderness and stylish living together. The goal was to ensure that our guests have all they need to create magical memories for a lifetime, and the result is this slice of earthly heaven that we call, Wild Culture, Yala.

The Yala National Park is the 2nd largest natural park in Sri Lanka and is known to have the highest density of leopards in the whole world. The park is also home to the Sri Lankan Elephant and a host of other endemic species. Perhaps the most famous and sought-after resident of the park is the Sri Lankan Leopard, Panthera pardus kotiya, which is a distinct subspecies of leopard that is native to Sri Lanka. First discovered by Sri Lanka zoologist Paules E P Deraniyagala in 1956, the Sri Lankan Leopard is now listed as “vulnerable” on the ICUN red-list due to habitat loss, fragmentation and other threats.
